The New York Jets have a lot of work to do to turn this embattled ship around, and head coach Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey have gone about their business in silence this offseason.
But something that hasn't been silent is the thought that the franchise might look to trade away an asset in favor of more draft capital.
With the Jets in a rebuilding year, getting games into younger players is what fans want to see, and when it comes to running back Breece Hall, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal, his name has come up as a potential candidate to move on.
And now, for Fox Sports' Ralph Vacchiano, in naming a trade candidate for each NFL team, for the Jets, Hall is the easy answer.
"New coach Aaron Glenn wants a running back committee like he watched in Detroit, and the 24-year-old could be a big part of that," Vacchiano writes. "But the Jets have a lot of good, young players due for big contract extensions soon, and Hall will be a free agent next March. It seems unlikely they'd pay a premium for a running back who has yet to top 1,000 yards in a season. His talent, potential and price make him a valuable chip, though. And the Jets could turn to Braelon Allen immediately and then replace Hall with a pick from a deep running back class."
With Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis as the two behind Hall, both are younger, and Glenn could see more upside than Hall. Plus, they won't be due big-money extensions either.
The Dallas Cowboys have been linked with Breece, but their signings of Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders put a pin in that idea; however, there will be a team interested somewhere who needs a solid running back for one season.
The biggest thing that might make teams balk is that Hall will need a new contract after 2025, and based on how his season goes, the number could be rather high.
But the Jets could make that someone else's problem and get some nice draft capital in return.
This isn't the first time, and it won't be the last time we see Hall's name mentioned as a trade candidate.
