Jets' Darren Mougey Drops Scouting Report on 2025 Offensive Linemen

The New York Jets hold the No. 7 overall pick, and for most, getting Justin Fields a new weapon feels like the right move for the franchise.

Jets' Darren Mougey Drops Scouting Report on 2025 Offensive Linemen

But with the NFL Draft under a week away, and mocks flying off the shelves, it isn't a receiving weapon like Tyler Warren that the Jets look at, it's offensive line, and in particular, right tackle.

Missouri's Armand Membou has been the player most mocked to the Jets, with the thought of giving Fields two stud bookends with Olu Fashanu at left tackle and Membou at right tackle a tantalizing thought.

For general manager Darren Mougey, when asked about the offensive line needs and possibly adding to it via the draft, he didn't give too much away.

"I think it's good, I think there's some players there that can play, I think it's a good group," Mougey said.

So Mougey isn't ruling out the possibility of going for a right tackle, which most believe is the one position along the line that needs reinforcing.

In taking an offensive lineman, the Jets would then have to work out a way to get Fields some pass-catching weapons. Could that lead them to free agents like Keenan Allen or Tyler Lockett?

Given the youth movement, we doubt it, so where the weapons could come from is unknown and given that most could be snapped up in the first round and early second, the Jets might be handicapping Fields and the passing game.

Either way, the offensive line is at the top of the wishlist for the Jets, but a weapon for Fields deserves consideration as well.
