There are certain players who, when they leave your team, will forever be loved for various reasons. Former Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is one of those guys.
Now on his third team, fans are continuing to hear the same sentiments about Fields as we heard during his time in Chicago, and it's no surprise.
“He’s not trying to be the celebrity quarterback, he’s just trying to be himself," Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said, recently. "And whatever comes with that, it comes with it. So, he’s not trying to impress anybody. He’s going out there and he’s busting his a– trying to be the best quarterback he can be for this team. Everybody sees that — and I like that.”
Any of those words come as a surprise? Nope, they sure don't.
Forget any flaws or shortcomings that have still shown up in Fields' game as a quarterback, this is all about Fields the person and teammate.
Even going back to his year with the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, Fields continued to be the humble leader we knew him to be from the start. Remember, when he lost his starting job after winning games for the Steelers, he took it on the chin and didn't pass blame.
Whether or not you believe in his abilities as a quarterback, one thing remains very clear: it's hard not to like the guy.
Fields remains the calm, softspoken leader he's always been. Just as Glenn mentioned, he's never come across as the one who wants all the attention. He isn't going out and making headlines in the wrong way.

Fortunately, Fields has remained steadfast in who he is, and the Jets are lucky to have a leader and teammate like him.
