When the New York Jets signed Justin Fields to a two-year deal, many were unsure of exactly how he would fit with new head coach Aaron Glenn and offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand.

But every time we have heard Glenn or general manager Darren Mougey speak on Fields, there have been nothing but glowing words.

Coming off a solid-ish season in Pittsburgh, where Russell Wilson eventually usurped him despite a 4-2 record, Fields comes to New York with his former Ohio State buddy Garrett Wilson now riding shotgun as his No. 1 receiver.

But some are still skeptical of what Fields can conjure up as the Jets' starting quarterback, and for NFL insider Judy Battista, she's revealed her two big question marks hanging over New York's newest quarterback.

"The question is, can he operate the offense efficiently?" Battista said on The Insiders. "Then, can he get the ball down the field. That is what they wanted more of in Pittsburgh, they wanted more explosive plays, they wanted more scoring. Aaron Glenn, who faced him as the defensive coordinator  when he was in Detroit, he feels [Fields] still has a very high ceiling and that the Jets can get him to it."

We have seen flashes of Fields' talent, but in his four NFL seasons, that's all it has been, just flashes. There hasn't been a streak where teams have looked at Fields and thought he's a long-term option.

It is clear that Glenn might see Fields as that.

With team activities now underway, Fields will be getting used to his new team and play/caller as he looks to hit the preseason ground running in preparation for what could be a defining year in his career.

But how Fields answers Battista's two questions will determine his success in the Big Apple. His ability to run the offense efficiently and push the ball down the field are the two clear things fans and coaches alike want to see.

If he can do those two things well, then Fields might have a future with the Jets beyond 2025.
