Bachelor Nation is clearly going through a transitional phase within the franchise, and former Bachelorette Jenn Tran reacted to claims that she and former Bachelor Grant Ellis left the series in “shambles.”
“No, no, no, you guys are looking at this all wrong,” Jenn, 27, sarcastically said in a Monday, May 13, TikTok video. “I was actually such an amazing Bachelorette and my relationship ended in such success that they can simply never find anyone to replace me because my season will be forever ingrained in your little brains and you’re never going to get out of your heads. Thank you.”
The physician’s assistant student concluded her response in the caption of the video, writing, “Say it with me long live Jenn Tran the last bachelorette to ever cry tears on ur tv.”
Jenn’s fans came to her defense in the comments section of the post, blaming the wrongdoing of the producers and casting for her failed season.
“Why are they blaming you instead of the psychotic producers? The franchise has been going downhill for a long time,” one person wrote, while a second added, “Jenn has turned out to be one of the most dynamic bachelorettes! She’s amazing, but the men weren’t it sorry.”
Meanwhile, a third person joked that after Jenn found Sasha Farber, “ABC realized DWTS is actually the best version of the bachelor/bachelorette.”
Jenn’s journey as the season 21 of the Bachelorette faced drama from the beginning. Before the lead was announced at the end of Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor, rumors swirled about who would be the next female lead. Daisy Kent and Maria Georgas were seemingly the top contenders, and after Jenn was announced as the Bachelorette, Maria, 30, claimed that she was asked to fill the role but backed out at the last minute.
“The truth of the matter is, there’s a lot of narratives out there and they’re not necessarily the truth,” Jenn said during a June 2024 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “This show has been going on for years and years – 21 years of this show specifically – and every season there are multiple people in contention for the role. Multiple people are doing interviews or doing fittings or filming intro packages. And it’s never really you until it’s you. That’s why I was a little disappointed. The narratives out there aren’t exactly true.”
Jenn’s journey to find love wasn’t a breeze, but she ended the show engaged to ex-fiancé Devin Strader. Their love story quickly ended after the Miami resident questioned his proposal due to his distant attitude toward their relationship.
During the After the Final Rose episode in September 2024, Jenn announced that she and Devin, 28, were no longer together because he felt pressured being engaged. Although she offered to continue their relationship and continue to date each other, Devin broke up with her over the phone.
Jenn quickly put her Bachelorette heels in the closet and pulled out her dancing shoes when she joined the Dancing With the Stars season 33 cast. The reality star was paired with professional dancer Sasha, 41, and their partnership turned into a full-blown relationship after they were eliminated from the competition during week 6 in October 2024.
After their time on the show, Jenn temporarily lived with Sasha in Los Angeles. However, she moved back to Miami in April to continue her career in the medical field, leading fans to wonder about the status of her relationship with Sasha.
