The Miami Dolphins are clearly reshaping their roster after trading away Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith in exchange for Minkah Fitzpatrick.
But if they’re going to make serious noise in 2025, offensive playmakers will need to step up significantly, starting with Jaylen Waddle.
Fans are tossing around bold predictions, but Waddle’s role could be the real game changer.
When asked about his 2024 season and areas for growth, he gave a refreshingly honest answer.
ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques reported that Waddle isn’t shying away from the pressure. He’s leaning into it.
“Definitely the year that I didn’t want as an individual [2024]. After watching the film, definitely a lot of hand eye (coordination). I feel like I’m trying to move without the ball too much. Just the simple things, just timing, getting smoother in and out of my routes,” Louis-Jacques’ report suggested.

The 26-year-old is coming off a season that should be considered a slump, where he caught 58 passes for 744 yards and two touchdowns.
This broke his streak of three consecutive years with over 1,000 yards.
The dynamic between Jaylen Waddle and Tua Tagovailoa remains central to the Dolphins’ offense, especially when paired with Tyreek Hill’s explosiveness.
After a slightly down year, Waddle is pushing for a big rebound in 2025. Head coach Mike McDaniel has praised the wideout’s effort, saying he’s seen the work firsthand.
With training camp approaching, Waddle heads into his fifth NFL season determined to prove that he and Hill still form one of the league’s most electric duos.
His bounce-back journey begins with self-accountability, something he’s taken seriously in Miami.
Coming off an 8-9 season and a second-place finish in the AFC East, the Dolphins seem ready to shift momentum.
