Jayden Daniels Sends Four-Word Message to New Commanders Teammate

The Washington Commanders made  one of the biggest moves of the offseason on Monday, trading for Houston Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil to bolster the offensive line and protect star quarterback Jayden Daniels. With two years remaining on Tunsil's current contract, Washington has solidified the blind-side offensive tackle spot for its young star quarterback going forward.

Daniels certainly seemed excited by the move as he welcomed his newest teammate with a short message on his Instagram story that said, "Welcome to the squad!!! @kingtunsil".

The offensive line was a major need this offseason for the Commanders, particularly to keep up with their division rival and the reigning Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles and their exceptional defensive front.

Daniels was sacked 47 times as a rookie, the sixth-most in the NFL during the regular season. Tunsil will provide improved protection for Daniels as the Commanders look to take advantage of the immediate ascent of Daniels to being one of the league's best quarterbacks.

Tunsil is a five-time Pro Bowl selection, including each of the past three years. He has played at least 14 games in eight of his nine seasons in the NFL since being drafted 13th overall by the Miami Dolphins in 2016. Miami traded Tunsil to Houston in 2019.

The Commanders also recently brought back tight end Zach Ertz and linebacker Bobby Wagner to continue providing a veteran presence in a young locker room. Tunsil will now add his nine years of NFL experience and status as one of the league's best tackles.
