Jaxson Dart gets $17 million contract update after being drafted by Giants

The New York Giants finally have a sense of direction at the quarterback position.

Despite bringing in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston during free agency, New York packaged a deal to trade back into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft in order to grab Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Jaxson Dart goes No. 25 to Giants

When it comes to his rookie deal, Sportac revealed that Dart will get a fully guaranteed four-year, $17 million contract. He'll also receive a $9 million signing bonus and the deal includes a fifth-year option for 2029.

Dart is a polarizing prospect in a weak quarterback class, but he was one of the fastest risers throughout the pre-draft process.

Here's what Dane Brugler wrote about Dart in his scouting report from The Athletic draft guide:

"Overall, Dart needs time to develop his progression-based reads and anticipation (things he wasn't asked to regularly do in college), but he is a natural thrower of the football with promising mobility and high-level competitive intangibles. If allowed to develop at his own pace, he offers NFL starting upside in the right situation."

The Giants already added a cornerstone piece to the defense by taking Penn State star Abdul Carter with the No. 3 overall pick, and there's a chance they landed a long-term option at quarterback with Dart in the mix.
