Jax Taylor admitted he’s been “having a rough time” this week after ex Brittany Cartwright aired his dirty laundry out in a new podcast interview.
Cartwright, 35, appeared on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast Monday, where she accused Taylor, 45, of not changing “at all” following his recent rehab stint. The reality star also claimed she has since caught her ex with multiple women in their shared home.
Just hours after the podcast went live, Taylor shared a series of cryptic posts via his Instagram Stories.
In one of the posts, which featured the former Sur bartender posing at the gym, he wrote, “When you are having a rough time the gym never lets you down … even late at night …”
Taylor then shared a quote from German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, which read, “There will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling rocks or stepping stones, it all depends on how you use them.”
The posts were a drastic change from how Taylor was seemingly feeling earlier in the day. Monday morning, the Bravo star had posted a lengthy caption to Instagram about his most recent “epic” trip to Toronto, Canada, with “partner in crime” Tom Schwartz.
While sharing two pics of them sitting at the airport, he wrote in part, “I know we have said this a thousand times but Canada has become our second home lately the hospitality we receive every time is on another level of kindness.”
He also thanked a tattoo artist for giving him fresh ink of son Cruz’s birthday behind his ear, writing, “The amazingly talented @mayflowerink added a special piece that I’ve been wanting to get behind my ear.
“Until next time Canada ❤️,” he concluded the lengthy post.
The “Vanderpump Rules” alum’s posts came after Cartwright claimed he hasn’t “changed at all” following his 30-day stint in an inpatient treatment center, where he was diagnosed with bipolar, post-traumatic stress and narcissistic personality disorders.
“I don’t feel like he changed at all in those 30 days. And the reason, I’m sure it’ll be on the show as well, but, you know, a lot of rage texting and stuff was still going on the entire time that he was in rehab,” she said on the “Hot Mic” podcast.
“So, for me, I was just noticing like, this is just going to be constant,” the “Valley” star said of her ex’s behavior.
“Like, if you’re in therapy seven hours a day, and you’re still finding time to call me names and cuss me out? And send me rage texts? Then you’re obviously not ever gonna change.”
Cartwright, who shares Cruz with Taylor, noted that she has no regrets about filing for divorce.
At the same time, she claimed she caught Taylor with at least two women in their shared home following their split.
The former couple had established they wouldn’t bring any new partners into their family home or have them around their son — but Taylor allegedly disregarded that boundary.
“I don’t know if he had anybody around Cruz, but he definitely had people at my house, because I caught him both times, and only two times I caught him,” she claimed during the episode.
“I’m sure there was other times, but I caught him twice, and I was like, ‘Man!’”
She also defended herself for hooking up with one of Taylor’s friends, saying she didn’t care if she “hurt [Taylor’s] feelings like that.”
Page Six revealed in October that Cartwright, 35, had a brief “physical” relationship with former TomTom employee Julian Sensley after her split from Taylor in February.
“I wasn’t trying to go after one of his friends. That’s not how it happened. I was just so mad at Jax. I didn’t care if I hurt his feelings like that,” she explained Monday.
“Why should I care? He never cared about how he hurt my feelings for years. He put me down. He did so much to me that, I’m sorry you’re so upset about who it is, but at the same time, you didn’t give me attention, affection or anything for years.”
After a very tumultuous relationship and marriage, Cartwright and Taylor separated in February. She officially filed for divorce six months later.
