Over the years, The Valley star Jax Taylor has been very vocal about his road to recovery. In July 2024, he went into rehab for 30 days citing mental health problems. And, a few months later, he went to another facility for treatment. In the past, he has revealed his issues with alcohol, dealing with anxiety, and his bipolar disorder diagnosis. Nevertheless, it was still just as shocking for fans to recently learn that he has also struggled with drug addiction, specifically cocaine. But, he made it clear that he’s actively trying to put it behind him.
After confessing this part of his past days before The Valley’s Season 2 trailer, several of Jax’s former Vanderpump Rules co-stars have since shared their support. From Tom Sandoval, who knew about his close friend’s addiction struggles, to Scheana Shay and her words of encouragement, they are all hoping that he continues to better himself.
His estranged wife Brittany Cartwright also wished the same in her public comments. However, she also shared that she is still hesitant about the up-and-down behavior and how it affects her and their son.
Jax Taylor opens up about his cocaine addiction, rehab, and “rock bottom”
Jax recently shared vulnerable details surrounding his newly announced struggle with drug addiction. One of the biggest disclosures was just how much cocaine he once consumed.
“I could probably buy a house for the amount of money I’ve spent on drugs. It’s sickening to me. My parents did not raise this kind of person,” he told US Weekly.
Jax went on to describe his life’s rock bottom, which occurred right after his split from Brittany.
“I was in my house by myself for months. I wasn’t eating. I was drinking and doing enough cocaine to kill a small horse. I went on a full-on tear. I was so depressed. I felt like I lost everything. The devil on my shoulder was louder than that angel on my shoulder.”
Fortunately, Jax also shared that he has successfully passed the 100-day milestone for his sobriety, which includes both drugs and alcohol.
The Valley Season 2 premieres on April 15 on Bravo.
