Jason Tartick has some thoughts on The Bachelor’s hiatus.

The Rewired Talent Management co-founder, 36, opened up about the topic in an exclusive interview with Parade during which he also talked about his book, Talk Money to Me: The 8 Essential Financial Questions to Discuss with Your Partner.

“I'm a finance guy, right? So if you look at these shows, maybe look at them like a stock. Like,  are you buying or selling?” he begins. “You know, I'm selling it. It feels as though The Bachelor franchise is trending in a direction [where] it needs a massive, massive turnaround. And as someone who's from the show — and I talk about this with friends of mine from the show all the time — everyone that came off that show wants the show to do well. When the show does well, it helps all of us. When the show doesn't do well, it hurts. To some level, we're all somewhat connected to it.”

Tartick — who appeared on Season 14 of The Bachelorette in 2018 — goes on to tell Parade that if he were an executive producer on the show and was getting ready for the next season of TheBachelor or Bachelorette, he would “hit full reset” and “get a lead that has never touched the franchise,” noting that the formula of dating shows like Love Island are “moving in such a strong direction.”

He continues: “I think the problem with the franchise — and we'll see what [happens] with Paradise — is that I think they're losing some of the Boomers and Gen X [generations], and the problem is with the shift, they're not gaining Gen Z's attention. But I'm dying for the show to do well, and I hope Paradise absolutely crushes it. But it sounds like they made a ton of changes, and will those changes be perceived as a lookalike to these other franchises or will people gravitate towards it? I don't know. I'm not sure, but I just hope they can turn it around a little bit.”

In addition to talking about The Bachelor, Tartick opened up about penning his second book, Talk Money to Me, which was released in March 2024.

“Look at all the analytics of love and money [and] the impact it has on divorce rate. It's financial infidelity,” he says. “About half the couples that are married or cohabitating are actually cheating on themselves or one another with finances, which is kind of wild.”

The banker also touched on his podcast, “Trading Secrets,” where he explores “taboo curiosities,” money questions and the link between financial stress and mental health.

“Right now, [it] is a top 30 entrepreneur and business podcast in North America. And the big discussion topic is: where do you make money, how much money do you make, and how did you get to where you are?” he explains. “Every single year in ‘Trading Secrets,’ I do one episode called the ‘Trading Secrets Tell-All’ where I talk about every place that I'm currently making money and where I'm spending my time, what investments are going well, and how they're doing.”

He adds: “But between the two books, doing investing, speaking content, creating [and] the podcast — it's been seven years now of building this since leaving corporate America and finance, and it's paid off in many ways.”
