When it rains, it pours for the Minnesota Vikings.
Kevin O’Connell’s team has had to endure multiple bad news this offseason.
Now, it seems like one of their backup quarterbacks might not make it past Tuesday’s roster cuts, and not because of his performance.
According to a report by Alec Lewis, Jaren Hall suffered a leg injury after taking a hit in the win over the Philadelphia Eagles (Via The Purple Persuasion).
With just over 11 minutes left in the third quarter, Hall dropped back on a third and goal.
He scrambled outside and floated an incomplete pass, also taking a big hit, and was very slow to get up.
Coach O’Connell, who was mic’d up on the FOX 9 broadcast, claimed that the play should’ve been a penalty.
Hall looked okay after being checked on the sidelines, so the injury might not be that serious.
He had already proved that he was worthy of consideration to stay on the roster.
Prior to the injury, he had completed 17 of 25 passes for 189 yards and a couple of scores, and he had also looked sharp vs. the Cleveland Browns.
Still, with Sam Darnold and Nick Mullens looking like locks to make the roster, the Vikings will have to make a tough decision regarding Hall.
The severity of the injury might seal his fate, but if he’s cut, the Vikings will most definitely hope he clears waivers so they can sign him to their practice squad, which might be a lot to ask after watching how he played in the preseason.
