Jalen Ramsey and the Miami Dolphins have all but reached the conclusion that a trade will be imminent as the two sides are going to be parting ways shortly.Jalen Ramsey Trade Talk Heats Up Heading Into Minicamp

After just two seasons with Miami, and two disappointing seasons resulting in just one playoff berth in 2023, Ramsey is wanting to start over with his next chapter in the NFL.

It is the time during the offseason that players have to report to mandatory minicamps, or they could receive fines.

Ian Rapoport reported that with Ramsey's trade coming up soon, he is choosing to forego the minicamp, most likely in an attempt to ensure he stays healthy prior to any trade.

Where his next destination is has not had any real rumors floating around. Many Los Angeles Rams fans would love to see him back on the team that he won a Super Bowl with just three years ago.

In the past, he and Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. have talked about playing professional ball together, as they both played together at Florida State. Whether now is the time they unite is unknown for now, but would be an incredible piece of a secondary unit.

A big obstacle in Ramsey's trade is likely his contract, as he has a cap hit of $16,661,000 in 2025, according to Over the Cap. Almost every team in the league can afford that hit, but would be hard to make more moves afterwards.

Some of the teams with the highest cap space remaining are the New England Patriots with $60 million, San Francisco 49ers with $46 million, and Detroit Lions with $40 million.

The Rams currently sit at $19 million in cap space remaining, so a trade with Ramsey would be cutting it close to maxing out their remaining cap space, barring any retention on Miami's part.

The coming days and weeks will be interesting to see what unfolds in Miami as Ramsey will be awaiting a trade. The Dolphins' mandatory minicamp takes place June 10-12.
