The Las Vegas Raiders continue to remake their secondary. After losing starting defensive backs Nate Hobbs, Tre'von Moehrig and Marcus Epps in free agency, the team is moving on from another starter from last season.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Raiders have decided to release cornerback Jack Jones after failing to find a trade partner for him. Jones started 16 games for the team last season and had three interceptions.
Former head coach Antonio Pierce was Jones' biggest champion after coaching him in high school and college but he's no longer with the team so this move wasn't a surprise.
Jones was a fan favorite for a brief time after a strong stint to end the 2023 season. Even though he's no longer with the team, the veteran cornerback made sure to let fans know that there are no hard feelings.
"Appreciate you raider nation it's all love," Jones wrote on his Instagram Story.

The Raiders had Jones as a Week 1 starter last season and the team has done little to improve their cornerback room this offseason. Either the team has plans to draft a cornerback early or they have their eyes on another veteran in free agency.
Regardless, Jones should be able to land with another team in free agency. He got a lot of valuable experience last season and is a playmaker. He does take a lot of risk that end up biting him but he should get a chance to start somewhere this season.
