Going into the 2025 draft, Jack Bech was a relative unknown, at least among the majority of Raiders fans.
Since being drafted in the second the round by the Raiders, the fan base had become more familiar with Bech’s path to the NFL, including the loss of his brother, Martin, in the New Year’s Day terrorist attack in New Orleans.
The last number Martin “Tiger” Bech got to see his brother wear was no. 18 and that’s the reason the younger Bech says he’ll wear it in the NFL.
“18 is the number I chose when I got to TCU. The reason I still wear it is because it’s the last season my brother got to see me play football,” Bech said this week. “It gave me a lot of good energy and good vibe. I just want to continue that and carry his legacy on.”
”Randy Moss wore it for the Raiders. It’s pretty cool to be able to wear a number that a great wore.”
Former Raiders wide receiver (albeit only for a short time) Antonio Brown shared a two-word message on X in response to Bech’s video explaining why he’ll where no. 18 in the NFL…
”Blessings King.”
