Ja'Marr Chase's unsportsmanlike conduct fine for violent gesture vs Ravens is $19,697

   

The NFL fined Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase $19,697 for unsportsmanlike conduct/violent gesture as part of a touchdown celebration during the Week 5 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, first reported by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The TD was Chase's first of two in the game. He also scored on a 70-yard reception from quarterback Joe Burrow in the fourth quarter, and finished the game with 10 catches for 193 receiving yards.

Violent-gesture fines earlier in the NFL season haven't exceeded $14,609.

Chase's Bengals teammate, Trey Hendrickson, was fined $16,883 for roughing the passer for landing with full body weight on Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson during the fourth quarter.

Chase was fined $31,599 after the Bengals' Week 2 loss to the Chiefs for an unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty he received for arguing with official Alex Kemp.

Chase received two fines totaling more than $23,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct in September 2022.
