It’s only OTAs but this jaw-dropping video might be proof the Giants are back

Yes, it's only OTAs. Yes, it's springtime and the players aren't even wearing pads yet. Yes, overreacting to anything at this stage of the season... offseason (?) is wildly irresponsible. But it doesn't mean nothing either.

East Rutherford, NJ -- June 5, 2025 -- Linebackers, , Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brian Burns and Abdul Carter as the New York Giants players participate in their 2025 OTAÕs at the Quest Diagnostic Giants Training Center in East Rutherford.

But when a video surfaces from OTAs and it's everything a fanbase could ever want, it's really hard not to. Luckily for New York Giants fans, that's exactly what happened Wednesday night. So bring on the overreactions! After all, it's been a minute since this team has had anything fun to root for.

Giants fans should let loose and embrace the excitement

The viral clip shows all three edge defenders—Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brian Burns, and Abdul Carter—collapsing the pocket on Russell Wilson in a blink. Quite literally, blink and you might miss it. Take a look at the video below and do your best to contain the excitement:

It wasn’t just one guy winning his rep. It was coordinated chaos. Carter, interestingly enough, lined up over the guard and blew past the interior with a filthy spin move. Thibodeaux came off the left side using a cross-chop and sweep combo that left Jermaine Eluemunor wishing to run it back. And Burns, setting the edge on the right, baited the tackle before uncorking an inside-out spin move of his own that looked like it was stolen from a Von Miller reel.

All three converged on Wilson at the exact same time. The whole thing took maybe two seconds.

So, yes, let’s be responsible for a second and acknowledge the context: this was against backups, it’s early June, and no one is wearing pads.

But it doesn’t take game tape to spot the explosiveness. That kind of speed, timing, and disruption doesn’t fake well on camera. And it’s not just about the rushers—it’s about how the Giants plan to use them. When Carter was drafted, many analysts believed he could be used all over the field, including inside.

So it didn't exactly take long to prove he has one of the deepest bags already. And that's awesome.

Adding Carter to a defensive front that already features Dexter Lawrence, Burns, and Thibodeaux gives the Giants arguably the most dynamic group they’ve had since the Super Bowl years. Burns brings the polish, Thibodeaux brings the twitch, Sexy Dex wrecks the middle, and Carter looks like the kind of athlete who can do anything and everything that's asked of him.

For all the attention paid to fixing the offense, this defense might be the reason Giants fans start to believe in this team again . And if this one clip is any indication of what’s coming, the league will be put on notice... fast.

So yes, it is only OTAs, but don't let others tell you you can't get excited. Let it fly.
