The Green Bay Packers will have many questions to figure out this offseason with the wide receiver position. Many options exist to replace Christian Watson for the 2025 NFL season potentially.
It is going to be interesting to see what free agents, draft prospects, or players the Green Bay Packers could trade for at the wide receiver position. There will be many different names floated around this offseason. Earlier this season, the Packers faced the Seattle Seahawks.
It is not a secret that the Packers will need to get another wide receiver on the roster before the 2025 NFL season. However, there is a chance that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf could be traded before the start of the 2025 NFL season. The Seahawks finished with a 10-7 record this past season and missed the playoffs.
There is a chance that Seattle could start over this offseason. According to Jovan Alford of dairylandexpress.com, he thinks that the Green Bay Packers have a chance to trade for the Seahawks wide receiver this offseason. Alford said:
“It would be shocking to see the Seahawks part ways with Metcalf, who is a solid complement to second-year receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. But the same can’t be said for Samuel, who took a step back this past season. It doesn’t help that San Francisco has Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall, who stepped up.
Between the two wide receivers, Metcalf would be the perfect trade target for Green Bay as he can stretch the field and be the big-body receiver Love needs on the boundary.”
D.K. Metcalf is entering the final year of his contract. He is 27 years old. Metcalf caught 66 passes for 992 yards receiving and five touchdowns, along with averaging 15.0 yards per catch. Metcalf was also targeted 108 times. He has played with the Seattle Seahawks for the first six years of his NFL career as well.
D.K. Metcalf was a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft from the Ole Miss Rebels. However, Peter Bukowski reported:
“It’s interesting Brian Gutekunst mentioned he had DK Metcalf and Deebo Samuel similarly rated to Elgton Jenkins in the draft because both of those guys could be on the block this spring.
Interestingly, the Green Bay Packers general manager mentioned this. Gutekunst knows they need a true number-one wide receiver for Jordan Love this offseason. D.K. Metcalf would be an interesting choice and they would maybe not need to trade away a first-round selection for him.
