“It Was Not Accurate”: Lamar Jackson Blamed For Mark Andrew’s Missed 2-Point Conversion Vs Bills By Ex-NFL QB

Lamar Jackson, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was recently blamed for the team’s recent defeat against the Buffalo Bills. Over the weekend, the Ravens played the Bills for the NFL Divisional Round and lost the game with a close score of 27-25. While the Ravens did play impressively, an error by Jackson was the ultimate reason for the defeat as per former NFL player Chris Simms.

In an appearance on the Up And Adams Show on Monday, Simms, who is also a sports analyst, called out Lamar Jackson for not passing the ball properly to tight end Mark Andrews accurately. Andrews failed to catch the ball and missed what could have been an easy two-pointer for the Baltimore Ravens. With only about a minute and a half remaining in the game, the Ravens found it impossible to do anything else and were sorely defeated.

“That ball needs to be on time and it was not accurate… This play is open. This was the perfect play call. So we can’t get mad at Todd Monken. What I’m saying is Mark Andrews in his meeting in Baltimore is going to get a negative grade for the drop. But also in Lamar Jackson’s meeting with his quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, he is gonna get a negative grade for this throw. It was late, he didn’t throw it with the same authority he usually throws it. He made it as hard as it could possibly be for a wide-open touchdown.” Chris Simms said to Kay Adams.

“(Lamar) made it as HARD as it could possibly be for a WIDE OPEN (two-point conversion).”@CSimmsQB on why the Mark Andrews drop was more on Lamar Jackson than we think… 👀🔊@heykayadams @ravens | #RavensFlock pic.twitter.com/6ZU35Jj18P

Simms was of course not the only one who called out Lamar Jackson on that obvious blunder. In the past, Jackson has failed to perform at very high-pressure levels, and this was highlighted by sports analysts like Emannuel Acho from FOX Sports.

Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson was similarly not pleased with his performance in the game against the Buffalo Bills. Overall, Jackson did do okay, going for 254 yards, and completing 18 passes out of 25 attempts. The QB went on to score a pair of touchdowns for the team, with a solo interception.

However, Jackson fumbled the ball a number of times, and added to his miscalculation in his pass to tight end, Mark Andrews, made the quarterback’s performance look very shabby in the losing game. After the game, Jackson went on an expletive-filled rant while speaking to reporters, clearly taking the blame for the defeat on himself.
