Insider Reveals Reason For Brock Bowers Missing Raiders Workouts
The Las Vegas Raiders struck gold last offseason when Georgia tight end Brock Bowers fell into their lap with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite an atrocious season in terms of team performance, Bowers had an unbelievable rookie campaign, totaling 112 catches for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns.
This statline broke plenty of franchise, NFL and rookie records last season, and Bowers raked in quite a few accolades as well. Not only did the first-year player earn Pro Bowl honors, but he was also named a First-Team All-Pro by every voting body around the league.
Bowers, however, has not been in attendance for the Raiders' voluntary program this offseason under new head coach Pete Carroll. While most of the focus has been on starting left tackle Kolton Miller and his contract situation, Bowers' absence slipped through the cracks a bit.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal's Vincent Bonsignore cleared the air, however, by reporting that Bowers has not been at the team facility because he is finishing up his degree at the University of Georgia. When he is done with the semester, he will rejoin the team like normal.
This is incredible news for the segment of Raider Nation that was worried about his being a no-show at the team's voluntary workouts. But Bowers is not the kind of player who would hold out, and the Raiders are smart enough to pay him what he wants, and more, anyway.
