‘Insanity’… NFL fans react to notable star player’s absence on PFF’s ‘Best Player at Every Position’ rankings

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the hottest teams in the NFL with back-to-back Super Bowls and three in five years, but fans have shown resentment toward PFF’s latest position rankings.

Over the weekend, PFF has produced an analytical conclusion of the best offensive players in each position and two Chiefs stars have made the cut.

The NFL analyst concluded the best players at quarterback, wide receiver, center, running back, tackle, guard, and tight end.

Patrick Mahomes was the first Kansas City Chiefs player on top in the most vital position on the football field.

Patrick Mahomes earns the top spot at QB with Creed Humphrey getting the nod at center

It’s hard to argue how the reigning back-to-back Super Bowl champion would not earn the position of signal-caller.

Despite the Chiefs having their share of chemistry struggles and timing on offense last year, the team found their form in all-or-nothing playoffs.

Creed Humphrey was the second Chiefs star to make the list at center. The Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce announced his retirement in the offseason, meaning the spot was up for grabs with the best center departing.

After successive Pro Bowl appearances to kick start his career and a Second-Team All-Pro selection in his rookie season, PFF awarded Humphrey with the honor.

Humphrey beats rookie sensation Tyler Linderbaum of the Baltimore Ravens and veteran Frank Ragnow of the Detroit Lions to the center role.

NFL fans baffled about George Kittle being selected over Travis Kelce in PFF’s rankings

However, fans have been vocal in their objection to the choice of the San Francisco 49ers George Kittle over their star player Travis Kelce at tight end.

Kittle finished with 1,020 receiving yards in the regular season, with Kelce recording 984 yards.

In addition, the San Fran star scored one more touchdown but the Chiefs tight end outperformed him in the Super Bowl LVIII final.

Kittle caught only two passes for a total of four yards and Kelce hauled in 93 yards on the crucial day.

Fans took to X to share their opinions about Kittle being selected as the best tight end in their offseason rankings.

One fan stated: “Insanity to put Kittle over Kelce.”

With another in disbelief: “Can someone explain to me how Kittle’s 4 yards in the Super Bowl vs Kelce’s 100 would make him the best TE in the league.”

NFL fans reference Travis Kelce’s brilliant Super Bowl performance, meanwhile Kittle was non-existent

Fans continuously referenced Kittle’s poor performance in Las Vegas in comparison to the 34-year-old’s.

“Did you watch the Super Bowl last year? Kelce over Kittle all day, every day.”

“Not having Kelce at the top of the TEs is absolutely indefensible even with your silly PFF nerd metrics.”

One fan disagreed that Humphrey was the current center but agreed that Kelce over Kittle is a must: “

“When Jason Kelce retired, Frank Ragnow assumed the crown among centers. Penei Sewell is the best OT in the NFL by a country mile. Kittle? LaPorta or Kelce, heck even Hockenson.”

Ultimately, fans are baffled by PFF’s decisions and analytics that have concluded that George Kittle is a superior tight end to the seven-time All-Pro Travis Kelce.
