The card, a 2017 Panini National Treasures edition, sold for nearly $200,000, per Bleacher Report. It includes Mahomes' autograph and jersey patch along with a picture of him from his rookie season.
Goldin, a marketplace for high-end collectibles, posted a video of the card. Take a look:
Mahomes is already on track for being considered the best quarterback in NFL history. With three Super Bowl wins, he's just one more shy of being over halfway toward Tom Brady's seven rings. Considering how he continues to handle himself as a leader while remaining dominant on the field, it's going to be harder to doubt that the 28-year-old won't someday catch the GOAT.
Last season was considered a "down" year by Mahomes' standards. He finished the regular season 401 of 597 passing for 4,183 yards, 27 touchdowns and a career-high 14 interceptions.
The Chiefs still managed to win it all, so there's no telling what could happen next season if Mahomes is able to put together a bounce-back year.
