The Bachelorette season 21’s winner Devin Strader may have been the ultimate villain to Jenn Tran, but I’m convinced that inviting him to be on Bachelor In Paradise season 10 is the right move. Bachelor In Paradise season 10 may already be welcoming Jenn’s ex Jonathan Johnson, but after a tumultuous season of the series that led to a heartbreaking finale, her final rose recipient may be another possibility for the cast. Originally a part of The Bachelor season 28, Jenn was revealed as the lead of The Bachelorette season 21 to a mixed reception, even though she was fun.
Jenn’s season of The Bachelorette has been one of the most difficult for Bachelor Nation to get through, especially because of the cast. While some of the guys, like Jonathan, were part of the season for the right reasons, others found themselves a part of the show despite lacking interest in Jenn herself. Much like fellow villain Sam McKinney, Devin wasn’t initially interested in Jenn romantically, and as he made his way deeper into the season, it appeared he’d developed an attraction to her. After their breakup was announced during The Bachelorette finale, Devin’s been playing the villain more consistently.
While I don’t like the way Devin treated Jenn, I think he’d make for a great addition to Paradise.
While Jonathan’s already a part of the Bachelor In Paradise season 10 cast, there’s room for more of the guys from Jenn’s season to round things out, and while I don’t like the way Devin treated Jenn, I think he’d make for a great addition to Paradise. While many Bachelor Nation fans are probably irritated at the idea, Devin’s presence on the upcoming season of Bachelor In Paradise could be a fascinating part of the show. Much like other Bachelor and Bachelorette villains of yore, Devin could change the game if he showed up at the Bachelor In Paradise resort.

He Was Playing A Role
It was evident early on that Jenn’s cast of guys wasn’t up to the normal Bachelorette series standard. While Jenn was meant to be an exciting casting choice, things didn’t turn out the way Bachelorette producers expected with the season. With Jenn being the third choice for the lead, the producers had to scramble to put things in place that would make her season unique but didn’t change the cast despite replacing their lead. This meant the guys on the series weren’t aware they’d be getting to know Jenn, instead thinking Daisy Kent or Maria Georgas would be their Bachelorette.
In particular, Devin seemed like a red flag from early on, despite not acting like the typical red flag on The Bachelorette. While some of the other guys on The Bachelorette season 21 cast seemed like they were a part of the cast for clout, Devin was one of the cast members who genuinely seemed interested in Jenn. The stereotypical guy who brings the drama to the lead, Devin was a little too invested in the drama of the rest of the cast for my liking, but he didn’t seem as obvious a villain as some of the other contestants.

He Seems To Be Apologetic
At the end of The Bachelorette season 21, it was revealed that Jenn and Devin had gotten engaged during the final moments of the season but had broken up between the end of filming and the season finale. While Jenn and Devin both seemed settled in the fact that their relationship wasn’t going to work out, their breakup was a messy one. Jenn shared that Devin dumped her over text message, even though she was hopeful they’d be able to talk about their issues face to face. The worst part, she explained, was that he immediately followed Maria on Instagram.
While Jenn and Devin’s relationship likely would’ve come to a natural conclusion, he made things sting even more by venturing out on his own immediately after their split and trying to find the original Bachelorette choice he’d wanted to get to know. After the drama of The Bachelorette: After The Final Rose made it clear that Devin’s the real villain of Jenn’s season, the Bachelorette winner seems like he’s been taking some time to reflect on the issues that have come up for him. While he needs more time, Devin seems to be dedicated to making sense of the drama.
