Howie Roseman expected to work his trade magic with the Philadelphia Eagles come draft day

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is a genius when it comes to the NFL draft and making trades.

Over 14 seasons as a GM, Roseman has conducted roughly 47 draft weekend trades, and he is expected to add to that number this year.

ESPN's top NFL insider Adam Schefter "guarantees" Roseman will work his magic in a few weeks, making one or two moves.

"Let me give you one team that I think is going to be in the market to be bouncing all around potentially," Schefter said on his Adam Schefter Podcast. "Either moving up draft boards or trading for a veteran player or two. That would be your defending champion Philadelphia Eagles."

Schefter emphasizes how the Eagles currently have 20 picks over the next two drafts to play with; however, with a Super Bowl-caliber team, they don't necessarily need all of those selections.

"Over the next two drafts, the Eagles are scheduled to have 20 draft picks. They can't have 20 players make their roster. Their roster is too good and too deep to have all of these picks make their roster. On draft day this year, it would be just like the Eagles general manager Howie Roseman to package some of these picks, either in this draft or next year's draft as well to move up the board if there's a player he really wanted."

Schefter can see the Eagles pulling off a draft day trade similar to the one they did in 2022 when they acquired wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Tennessee Titans or D’Andre Swift from the Detroit Lions in 2023.

"That's the kind of move—a Day 3 trade for a veteran—that I think we could see from the Philadelphia Eagles this year," Schefter said. "I think that they've got as much fire power in this draft as any team out there. When you give a Super Bowl champion roster 20 draft picks over the next two drafts to go have fun with you become a team to watch."
