Moore, who had a late outburst in Alabama’s 40-35 loss to the Commodores on Saturday, has already spoken to the team. Fellow team captain Tyler Booker revealed that during his weekly appearance on “The Next Round” on Monday.

Among the things Moore did late: He gave Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia a shove late, Moore chucked his mouthguard, Moore kicked the football (drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty) and Moore looked like he refused to come off the field when the coaching staff tried to substitute Bray Hubbard for him.

“Did he go about it the right way? No,” Booker said. “But we all appreciate how much Malachi cares. I just want to put that out there, first and foremost. That’s my teammate. I’m always going to have his back. The way I handle it is, the first thing I think about, when I was on the sideline during that moment, I was like, OK, what could I have done better? How can I prevent this from happening in the future? I learned that from Malachi.”

Moore, along with Booker, Jalen Milroe and Deontae Lawson, is a permanent captain for this season and was a captain for the Crimson Tide a season ago.

“We still trust, believe in and love him,” Booker said. “So we’re very excited to see how he responds this week. We’re all behind Malachi. We all have his back.”

After the game, DeBoer note how Moore “pours everything into what he does” but it doesn’t make his actions OK.

"We want to be first class in everything we do,” DeBoer said. “There’s a lot of guys who are really frustrated. I think the key is we turn those frustrations into positives moving forward and make sure we remember what we feel here tonight.”

Next up, No. 7 Alabama will face South Carolina on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
