Houston Texans are set to do what every fan wants their team to do during training camp

When it comes to getting your team ready for the regular season, there aren't many coaches who do it better than Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans. I mean, he kind of knows exactly what it takes for a player to be ready because he was a player.

The Texans have started the last two years under Ryans ready, including when they lost Week 1 to the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 but put up a good fight despite having a terrible offensive line. Last year, they started super hot, winning six of their first eight games, and some big ones at that, like their win over the Buffalo Bills and the season sweep over the Indianapolis Colts.

This year, they start the season with two pretty tough matchups, with their season opener against the Los Angeles Rams and the home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both of those teams will beat the Texans if Houston isn't ready.

So, getting training camp right is something that is so crucial. And this offseason, DeMeco Ryans has something in store that could really help them, and it's something that every fan wants their team to do.

According to Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle, the Detroit Lions are planning a joint practice with the Texans ahead of their preseason game on August 23.

This will be their second joint practice against a team that they play in the preseason, with their other one being against the Carolina Panthers. As for this practice against the Lions, it doesn't get better than that -- a team that not only beat them last year in a game that Houston should have won but a team that made the playoffs and was one of the best teams in the NFL.

Practicing against another team like that will only help the Texans.
