Host Makes Confident Prediction on Davante Adams Future with Raiders: “I Cannot Say This Loud Enough”

Davante Adams said all the right things after Sunday’s loss to the Chargers, but is he going to change his tune if the Raiders don’t start playing better?

Yahoo and Fox Sports Radio host Jason Fitz is one of the industry’s best media commenters on the Raiders and he shared a confident opinion on Adams’ future with the Raiders on Tuesday.

“Even if this season goes off the rails, I cannot say this loud enough. I think even if the Raiders win three games, Davante Adams is going to be a Raider in week 18. I believe that,” Fitz said on Raider Nation Radio’s Morning Tailgate.

“I don’t believe that the Raiders would get anything in trade value that would make it worth getting rid of somebody that means as much to the organization as he does. I think Davante also knows that. So the level of patience changes when you know that ‘hey, this is the way life’s going to be this year.’”

“You can figure it out for next year,” Fitz continued. “I don’t think he’s going anywhere. I don’t think that there’s going to be a big blow up other than the usual blow up that comes from a wide receiver that wants and deserves the ball on every play.”

Despite reports to the contrary, Adams has made it clear that he doesn’t want to leave the Raiders.

As far as the team is concerned, the Raiders could potentially be limited in their trade options if they choose to shop their All Pro receiver. Adams doesn’t have a no-trade clause, but no team is going to trade for his massive contract without assurances that he wants to be there.

Contrary to what Fitz believes, there are a fair amount of well-connected media types who believe Adams will have significant trade value ahead of the trade deadline… but there’s a lot of football left before that (potential) conversation is going to happen.
