“Horrible News”: Houston Texans Fans Saddened by Rising Star Missing the Rest of the 2024 Season

Houston Texans defensive back Jalen Pitre had an incredible start to his third season in the National Football League and his first season at a new position: nickel cornerback. Pitre recorded 65 tackles, six TFLs, one interception, eight pass deflections, and one forced fumble in 12 games. He allowed 334 passing yards, four touchdowns, and a 97.1 passer rating in coverage while posting a 71.3 coverage grade and an overall 73.9 PFF grade.

Houston Texans: Jalen Pitre returrns interception for TD vs. Giants

Jalen Pitre injured his pectoral during the first half of Week 12 against the Tennessee Titans. Tests determined that Pitre suffered a partially torn pectoral muscle and wasn’t initially expected to undergo surgery but would weigh a second opinion. He missed Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Texans are coming off BYE and host the Miami Dolphins for Week 15.

According to Jordan Schultz of Schultz_Report, Jalen Pitre will undergo surgery to repair his partially torn pectoral. As Schultz points out, Pitre, their star nickel cornerback, will miss the rest of the 2024 season, which is a devastating loss for the Houston Texans’ defense. The good news is he should be ready for the start of training camp.

Fans are saddened by the news. Here’s what they had to say.
