Hometown 2025 NFL Draft prospect jokingly tried to bribe Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid with cheeseburgers

If there's one universally known fact about Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid, it's his love of cheeseburgers. A local Kansas City draft prospect further proved that point just a day ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Minnesota OT Aireontae Ersery, who attended Ruskin High School in Kansas City, recently spoke to our friend Harold R. Kuntz of FOX 4 KC. Ersery told Kuntz about a funny part of his pre-draft interaction with Reid.

"Oh, man, I just kind of joked with him a little bit," Ersery said. "I said, 'Man, if you come pick me (in the draft), man, I'll give you a cheeseburger every day.' I'll have it sitting on your desk for you every day. We laughed it out. It was all good."

Ersery knows that the way to Reid's heart is a good cheeseburger, so why not attempt a little bit of NFL Draft-related bribery?

"I know about Andy Reid," he said. "I know a couple of things."

Jokes aside, the 6-foot-6 and 331-pound offensive tackle reported that his conversations with the Chiefs at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine and during his pre-draft visit went smoothly. It meant a lot to him to see that type of interest from his hometown team.

"I had great talks with Chiefs, Andy Reid, (Assistant OL coach) Corey (Matthaei), everybody that was on staff, and we had a great formal meeting at the combine. And they brought me down for a top 30, which meant a lot, and I was able to see the facility and get more depth with the people. And it was a great time. And I feel like the Chiefs are definitely a team who are very much considering me."

His trip to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium also marked a first for the Kansas City kid.

"I have not," Ersery said. "Always seen it on TV. Being there in the facility, man, it was crazy, like it was definitely a first-class experience."
