“He Is A Go-To Weapon For Jordan Love”: Packers Tucker Kraft Next In Line To Receive A Contract Extension (Report)

The Green Bay Packers did not sign anyone to a contract extension during the offseason at this point, but some players could be due for a pay raise in the future. One player that could be getting a contract extension with the team at some point is tight end Tucker Kraft.

He showed a lot of improvement from his rookie season to his second season in the NFL. When the start of the 2024 season occurred, Luke Musgrave was 1A at tight end and Kraft was 1B at tight end. When Musgrave was injured, Kraft fully took over control of the reigns as the number one tight end on the Packers. He is looking to be one of the best tight ends in the NFL entering his third season.

CBS Sports writer Tyler Sullivan wrote about one player on each NFL team who could very well receive contract extensions in the near future. One player on Green Bay’s roster Sullivan listed as the top priority for a contract extension is the former South Dakota State Jackrabbits tight end. Sullivan said about Kraft,

“Kraft put together a breakout sophomore season in 2024, leading the team with seven receiving touchdowns. His 707 yards receiving and 50 receptions both ranked second on the club, proving he is a go-to weapon for Jordan Love in the passing game. He is signed through the 2026 season, and if he keeps his pace from last season up Kraft could command a contract extension that puts him among the highest-paid tight ends in the league. “

There is a chance that he could be the number one target for Love in 2025. This is even though they drafted rookies Matthew Golden and Savion Williams in the 2025 NFL Draft. Kraft has a chance to be one of the top tight ends in the NFL during the 2025 season. There is no doubt that if he can repeat what he did during the 2024 season, general manager Brian Gutekunst will have to sign Kraft to a long-term extension after the 2025 NFL season.
