“Green Bay’s Been Serious”: Packers Linked To Trade For Wide Receiver

The Green Bay Packers will have the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night. Many are wondering what they will do with that selection.

There is a very good chance that they will select a defensive player in the first round, whether that is a cornerback or a defensive lineman. At some point, the Packers will address the wide receiver position. There is a chance that Green Bay could make a trade for a wide receiver or draft one in the second-round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

With the Steelers trading for D.K. Metcalf earlier in the offseason, there is a chance that Pittsburgh may trade George Pickens away. One team that the Pittsburgh Steelers may trade him to is the Green Bay Packers. Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports said,

“Pittsburgh has taken and made calls on the talented WR, who’s now extension-eligible. After paying (DK) Metcalf, league sources are skeptical the Steelers will pay two receivers.”

Also an AFC general manager said to Schultz,

“It’s just not in their DNA to spend that much on two wideouts. Pickens is more available than people think. Green Bay’s been serious, and they’re not the only ones.”

The 24-year-old wide receiver caught 59 passes for 900 yards receiving and three touchdowns, along with averaging 15.3 yards per reception. He also was targeted 103 times. If the Packers were to trade for him, it would be interesting to see what they would give up for him in a potential trade.

Green Bay needs a true number one wide receiver for quarterback Jordan Love. There will be other teams in the market for Pickens as well.
