Green Bay Packers Are All Saying the Same Thing About Jaire Alexander in 1st Look as Baltimore Ravens CB

Earlier this offseason, the Green Bay Packers made the decision to release two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander. Prior to his release, Alexander had participated in the virtual sessions of the Packers’ offseason program, leading many to believe that he and the Packers may work out a resolution of their differences. However, the fact that Green Bay also had tried to trade him prior to the 2025 NFL Draft was also an indicator that the two sides just were not going to be a fit this year.

As Packers fans know well, Alexander and the Packers had fallen out over his frequent injuries that had kept him off the field for most of the past two seasons. Indeed, out of 34 possible regular season games in 2023 and 2024, he played just 14. Out of 68 possible regular season games over the last four years, he played just 34, and 16 of those came in 2022.

At the end of the day, the front office simply could not justify paying Alexander what they were paying him, and he refused to accept their restructured contract offer. And so, he was released from the team, free to sign anywhere he wanted. Thankfully, he stayed out of the NFC North.

While many feared that Alexander might go and sign with one of the Packers’ rivals in the NFC North, he instead chose to reunite with his college teammate Lamar Jackson on the Baltimore Ravens.

His contract with Baltimore is a one-year $6 million deal, one that is probably close to what the Packers were looking to pay him this year, a deep dive from the $20+ million he was making annually.

However, given his recent injury history, Alexander was not going to get a multi-year and rich contract from anyone. This deal will give him the opportunity to prove that he can stay healthy and, perhaps, sign a larger contract with the Ravens (or someone else) next offseason.

All 32 NFL teams have officially kicked off training camp for the 2025 NFL season. All veterans, aside from those who are holding out for more money, have reported to their respective camps and are ready to get to work.

Alexander, of course, is present at Ravens camp and was photographed for the first time in his new threads.

And Packers fans were all feeling some sort of way about it:

As one can see, Packers fans are hopeful that Alexander finds success with his new team. However, there is a tinge of regret that he and Green Bay could not work out their differences.

Still, seeing him in Ravens purple is a lot better than seeing him in Vikings purple, and for that fans are truly thankful.
