Grading Warriors Players After Blowout 99-129 Loss Against Kings

Malik Monk scored 26 points and dished out 12 assists, while Domantas Sabonis delivered a stellar performance with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists as the Sacramento Kings routed the Golden State Warriors 129-99 on Sunday night. Despite missing leading scorer De'Aaron Fox due to a bruised glute muscle, the Kings extended their winning streak to four games in dominant fashion, silencing the Chase Center crowd with a blistering first half.

Golden State Warriors have just been handed an unexpected opportunity to improve, they need to pounce

Sacramento surged to a 75-51 halftime lead, never trailing in a game where they connected on 10 of their first 17 shots, including 5 of 9 from deep. The Kings’ contingent of fans grew louder as frustrated Warriors supporters left early because Stephen Curry and company could not overcome them.

Curry provided one of the few bright spots for Golden State, scoring 26 points with seven rebounds. He dazzled in the second quarter with two four-point plays, briefly pulling the Warriors within eight points, but Sacramento quickly regained control. Andrew Wiggins added 18 points, while the Warriors struggled with 22 turnovers—equal to their assist total—a far cry from the 32 assists they recorded the previous night against Memphis.

Golden State’s woes deepened with news that forward Jonathan Kuminga will be sidelined for at least three weeks due to a sprained right ankle sustained on Saturday. With the loss, the Warriors failed to maintain momentum from their win against Memphis and fell flat against a relentless Sacramento squad. Let's grade the Warriors players for their performances on Sunday night.

Stephen Curry: B+

Stats: 26 PTS, 7 REB (0 OREB, 7 DREB), 0 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 4 TO, 3 PF, 8-12 FG, 4-8 3PT, 6-6 FT, -17, 30 MIN

Curry led the Warriors with 26 points and was efficient from the field (8-of-12 FG, 4-of-8 3PT, 6-of-6 FT). His second-quarter spark gave the team brief hope, but his 4 turnovers and -17 plus-minus reflected the team’s struggles to find a rhythm and maintain defensive integrity.

Andrew Wiggins: B

Stats: 18 PTS, 4 REB (1 OREB, 3 DREB), 1 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 2 TO, 3 PF, 7-13 FG, 1-3 3PT, 3-4 FT, -23, 26 MIN

Wiggins contributed 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting while also going 3-of-4 from the line. While his offensive output was solid, his defensive impact was minimal, and his -23 plus-minus underscored his limited influence on the game.

Moses Moody: B-

Stats: 13 PTS, 1 REB (0 OREB, 1 DREB), 2 AST, 2 STL, 0 BLK, 2 TO, 1 PF, 5-10 FG, 3-6 3PT, 0-0 FT, -5, 26 MIN

Moody provided a respectable 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. His two assists and two steals added value, but his rebounding and defensive presence were lacking, reflected in his -5 plus-minus.

Draymond Green: C+

Stats: 10 PTS, 4 REB (1 OREB, 3 DREB), 4 AST, 2 STL, 1 BLK, 5 TO, 3 PF, 4-8 FG, 2-4 3PT, 0-0 FT, -15, 25 MIN

Green filled the stat sheet with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals, but his 5 turnovers and -15 plus-minus highlighted his erratic performance. His defensive efforts were inconsistent, especially during key stretches.

Kevon Looney: C+

Stats: 9 PTS, 5 REB (4 OREB, 1 DREB), 0 AST, 2 STL, 1 BLK, 1 TO, 1 PF, 4-7 FG, 0-0 3PT, 1-2 FT, -6, 16 MIN

Looney’s 9 points and 5 rebounds (4 offensive) showcased his hustle, but his impact was muted overall. Despite shooting 4-of-7 from the field, his -6 plus-minus reflected Sacramento’s dominance inside.

Pat Spencer: C

Stats: 4 PTS, 1 REB (0 OREB, 1 DREB), 4 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 0 PF, 1-4 FG, 0-1 3PT, 2-4 FT, 0, 12 MIN

Spencer managed 4 points and 4 assists in limited minutes, showing some playmaking ability. However, his shooting (1-of-4 FG) and lack of defensive impact limited his contribution.

Buddy Hield: C-

Stats: 7 PTS, 3 REB (0 OREB, 3 DREB), 3 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 2 TO, 2 PF, 3-7 FG, 1-5 3PT, 0-0 FT, -25, 18 MIN

Hield’s 7 points and 3 rebounds came on a subpar 3-of-7 shooting night. His inability to hit from deep consistently (1-of-5 3PT) and his -25 plus-minus reflected his struggles on both ends.

Lindy Waters III: C-

Stats: 5 PTS, 2 REB (0 OREB, 2 DREB), 0 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 0 PF, 2-5 FG, 1-4 3PT, 0-0 FT, -3, 20 MIN

Waters contributed 5 points and 2 rebounds but struggled from beyond the arc (1-of-4 3PT) and had little defensive impact. His -3 plus-minus was one of the least damaging on a difficult night for the Warriors.

Dennis Schroder: C-

Stats: 3 PTS, 2 REB (1 OREB, 1 DREB), 2 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 1 PF, 1-7 FG, 0-2 3PT, 1-2 FT, -22, 21 MIN

Schroder had an off night, scoring just 3 points on 1-of-7 shooting. Despite contributing 2 rebounds and 2 assists, his inability to generate offense and a -22 plus-minus underscored his struggles.

Trayce Jackson-Davis: C-

Stats: 0 PTS, 2 REB (0 OREB, 2 DREB), 3 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 3 TO, 3 PF, 0-3 FG, 0-0 3PT, 0-0 FT, -16, 18 MIN

Jackson-Davis was held scoreless in 18 minutes, adding 2 rebounds and 3 assists. His 3 turnovers and -16 plus-minus highlighted his lack of offensive rhythm and defensive challenges.

Gui Santos: C-

Stats: 2 PTS, 2 REB (1 OREB, 1 DREB), 1 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 2 PF, 1-3 FG, 0-2 3PT, 0-0 FT, 0, 12 MIN

Santos scored 2 points and grabbed 2 rebounds but struggled overall, going 1-of-3 from the field and finishing with a neutral plus-minus (0).

Kyle Anderson: C-

Stats: 2 PTS, 2 REB (1 OREB, 1 DREB), 2 AST, 0 STL, 1 BLK, 1 TO, 2 PF, 1-2 FG, 0-0 3PT, 0-0 FT, -18, 16 MIN

Anderson’s 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in 16 minutes were underwhelming. While efficient shooting-wise (1-of-2 FG), his -18 plus-minus reflected his limited influence.
