Grade the Trade Proposal: Vikings add Tyreek Hill in major deal with Dolphins

Miami Dolphins' Most Valuable Player | Week Six | Tyreek Hill is our first two-time winner! - The Phinsider

A few days ago, TikTok user Joe Bonham shared a video online of Miami Dolphins All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill saying he grew up a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

This isn't the first time that Hill has shared his fandom for the Vikings. Back in 2022, the current Dolphins receiver said he would play for Minnesota if he were given the opportunity to pick any team in the NFL to suit up for.

This year, Hill has consistently been finding himself in the middle of trade rumors, whether it be by his own doing or others just pondering the possibility. So, with this being the case, let's see if we can make his childhood dreams come true and figure out a trade to get him in a Vikings uniform before the start of next season.

Grade the Trade Proposal: Minnesota Vikings send Jordan Addison to Miami Dolphins in exchange for Tyreek Hill

In the above trade proposal, some might be wondering why no selections from the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft were included. Well, if Miami wants to actually clear a notable amount of cap space by moving on from Hill, they'll have to wait until after June 1st to make a deal.

If the Dolphins were to trade the All-Pro wide receiver before June 1st this year, they would be left with a dead cap hit of more than $28 million, and they would actually lose an additional $598,750 of their 2025 salary cap.

But if Miami sends Hill elsewhere after June 1st, then they will free up almost $15 million in cap space, and they will only be left with a dead cap hit of $12.7 million for this year.

The bottom line is that if any teams are interested in making a trade for the veteran receiver this offseason, they probably won't be able to convince the Dolphins to make a deal until after June 1st.

So, that's exactly what Minnesota does in the trade proposal above. The proposed deal has the Vikings sending wide receiver Jordan Addison and a 2026 second-round draft pick to Miami in exchange for Hill and a 2026 third-round selection.

Minnesota's receiving duo of Addison and Justin Jefferson is already one of the best in the NFL, but just imagine how much more explosive the team's passing attack could be next season if they had Hill and Jefferson lining up on the field at the same time.

It would be a literal pick-your-poison scenario for opposing defenses every time the Vikings offense stepped on the field.

Having a wide receiver duo of Hill and Jefferson to throw to would certainly make life a whole lot easier for J.J. McCarthy in his first season as Minnesota's starting quarterback.

Hill helped the Kansas City Chiefs have a magical season during Patrick Mahomes's first year as the team's starting quarterback in 2018. Would he do the same for McCarthy in 2025?
