The New York Giants will be on the clock soon, as they have the No. 3 pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft. Although the Giants have moved on from Daniel Jones and signed two veteran quarterbacks in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston to fortify their QB depth in 2025, they still need a long-term answer under center.
A potential game-changing quarterback could be had by the Giants with their No. 3 pick, but Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports also raised an option for New York to just let go of that pick by trading down.
They could really use both a blue-chip lineman and a quarterback of the future, but you can’t satisfy both needs with one top-three pick. A slight drop that still nets them a top tackle might be their best bet as of now.
Shedeur Sanders to work out with Giants before 2025 NFL Draft

Trading down should get New York additional assets but what if Colorado Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders is still available after the Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns announced their picks for No. 1 and No. 2, respectively? If the Giants had not made the call to trade down by the time they get put on the clock, will they still entertain such a move under that scenario?
Speaking of Sanders, he is reportedly going to work out with the Giants on Thursday, per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.
