Giants star throws shade at Cowboys rookie with petty message that doesn't come across as he thinks

New York Giants Dexter Lawrence isn't happy about Thursday's score. And I'm not talking about the one that read 20-15, Dallas Cowboys at the end of the NFC East primetime showdown.

But rather, how Pro Football Focus recorded rookie center Cooper Beebe's first ever night game: 22 pass blocking snaps, no pressures allowed.

Giants star throws shade at Cowboys rookie with petty message that doesn't come across as he thinks

Lawrence took to social media to throw shade at the rookie, going out of his way to let the world know he wasn't shut out by Beebe, posting "Don’t hype this he know how the game went," and adding a GIF suggesting he beat the Cowboys center all night long.

Listen, I know what Lawrence is trying to do: He doesn't want stats being taken out of context and leading the NFL world to believe he got neutralized by a third-rounder playing his fourth career game. I get it. In his defense, he was double-teamed all night long (80% of the snaps per NextGen Stats!

But, come on, now! A two-time Pro Bowler considered one of the best in the game going out of his way to take shots at Beebe because of a stat post that he had nothing to do with? After a loss against the team that's beaten the Giants every single game but one since Lawrence was drafted in 2019? Which by the way, happened at the end of the 2020 season, in which Dak Prescott's season ended early on.

It's just a petty approach that doesn't come across as he thinks, in my opinion. And this is coming from someone who absolutely loves how Lawrence plays and signaled him as one of the top players on the Giants that could force Dallas to lose last Thursday.

But this right here? Nah, this ain't it. But let's cut him some slack, Giants players gotta be able to celebrate something.
