Giants leaning toward key position in NFL Draft with No. 3 pick that could surprise fans

The New York Giants still don't have a long-term answer at quarterback.

But it's sounding more and more likely that they won't pursue that answer with this year's No. 3 overall pick.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter made a radio appearance Wednesday in which he spelled out an alternate path.

"It's starting to feel like the New York Giants at No. 3 are starting to look elsewhere other than quarterback," Schefter said.

Schefter also reported that the Browns at No. 2 might fade quarterback, as well.

That would leave a combination of Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter as the most likely choices at 2-3, assuming Cam Ward goes No. 1 to the Titans.

And if that happens, a Sanders slide might be underway.

The Giants could still reverse course or even trade down, but for now, it might be time to start printing some Carter and Hunter jerseys in Cleveland and New York.
