The New York Giants added some intriguing pieces to the roster on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Not only did New York bring in a physical running back in the fourth round, they wound up grabbing one of the biggest steals in the entire draft right after.
The Giants used their fifth-round pick, No. 154 overall, on Purdue offensive lineman Marcus Mbow, who was generally viewed as a Day 2 pick.
Why he fell to the fifth round hasn't been revealed yet, but ESPN's Matt Miller believes it was a major steal for New York.
"Mbow was a value win, as the Giants selected him in Round 5 even though he had a third-round grade as a developmental prospect. Mbow could even be the team's long-term answer at right tackle," Miller wrote.
Given the questions of depth on the right side of the offensive line, Mbow will have a chance to compete for a prominent role right away.
Veteran Jermaine Eluemunor is expected to reprise his role as the starting right tackle, but he's going into the final year of his contract. Meanwhile, the right guard spot is completely up for grabs.
A three-year starter at Purdue, Mbow has experience working at both right guard and right tackle. He made 14 starts at right guard during his redshirt freshman season and 18 combined starts at right tackle during his final two seasons with the Boilermakers.
The Giants seem to have made some high-impact additions on Day 3 of the draft, and Mbow could certainly be one of them.
