The New York Giants need all the hope for the future they can get.
Maybe there's a way to double down on that hope on the opening night of the NFL Draft.
A To Z Sports writer Destin Adams lays out the plan in his latest mock draft.
The mock starts simply enough, with the Giants taking Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter at No. 3 overall.
Instead of standing pat until day two, though, the Giants make a move.
In the mock, they trade back into the first round to get the No. 31 pick, sending 34, 99 and a 2026 third-rounder to the Chiefs for the spot.
And with pick No. 31, the Giants select Alabama QB Jalen Milroe.
Milroe has consistency question marks as a passer but is one of the best athletes in the draft. He could learn for a year from Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston before hopefully taking over.
And if it worked out, the Giants would get two of the most talented players in one draft.
