Giants Get Bragging Rights in Future Hall of Fame Pick

The New York Giants are getting close to the start of their 2025-26 regular season, and it’s an exciting time for the franchise. The Giants have gone through a total quarterback upheaval, and their only returning signal-caller is hometown player Tommy DeVito. Now, DeVito is joined by veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, along with rookie Jaxson Dart, the latter who’s expected to become the face of the franchise at some point.

Head coach Brian Daboll has his work cut out for him, and he’s trying to come back from the team’s 3-14 record for the 2024-25 season. The Giants could sure use some good news heading into the new season, and they have some in a prediction that they have a future Hall of Famer on their squad.

In a feature for CBS Sports published on Saturday, Aug. 2, Bryan DeArdo predicts one Hall of Famer for each NFL team. The one he signals out for the Giants makes sense.

The New York Giants and the Hall of Fame

In the CBS Sports piece, DeArdo states that there’s “no official criteria when determining who is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That being said, based on who has and who hasn’t been enshrined over the past 50 years, it’s safe to say that there are certain things the voters look at when determining who should get a bronze bust and a gold jacket.”

For the tally, DeArdo used “interpretation of some of the unspoken criteria used when determining who gets into the Hall of Fame” and created a tally of each NFL’s player with the best chance to make it into the Hall.

For the Giants, Wilson is their Hall of Famer. They say that he’s not a lock but comes close.

“Wilson’s career is fascinating from a Hall of Fame standpoint,” DeArdo states. “While he is a 10-time Pro Bowler and a Super Bowl champion, Wilson hasn’t played at a consistently high level since 2020. He also doesn’t have the career numbers that measure up with many of his peers who will also receive Hall of Fame consideration someday.”

The Best Quarterbacks in the League

It’s great that Wilson is considered a future Hall of Famer, but he didn’t make the cut for one of the 10 quarterbacks in the league this year from Fox Spots. In a piece published on Friday, Aug. 1, they named Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills the top signal-caller in the league and didn’t have Wilson in the top 10.

“It says a lot to be ranked ahead of (Patrick) Mahomes,” the Fox Sports team states in the feature. “While Allen has yet to beat Mahomes in the playoffs, he showed consistency with his arm and legs last season. In 2024, despite not having a single elite target after Stefon Diggs went to Houston, Allen threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns.”

They have Mahomes at No. 2. Maybe after this season, Wilson of Dart will move into the top 10, if the New York Giants’ season goes the right way.
