Giants avoid last minute injury disaster with star Brian Burns that can help them beat Browns in Week 3

The New York Giants are currently 0-2 on the season and things simply don't look good heading into Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns, hence New York's as 6.5-point underdogs as of Sunday morning.

Giants avoid last minute injury disaster with star Brian Burns that can help them beat Browns in Week 3

That's why Brian Burns' latest injury update is big news. Sure, the Giants' prized pass rusher that was acquired in an offseason trade with the Panthers has yet to record a sack on the season. However, the mere presence of him, alongside stud defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence, is a factor every offense has to account for in a major way.

Burns popped up unexpectedly on Friday's final injury report with a groin injury. The last-minute development left him as a limited participant for the week's final practice, as he was officially labeled as questionable heading into the weekend.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Burns is expected to play on Sunday against the Browns.

Browns receive some good injury news of their own

Burns' availability is not only big from a "what he can do by himself" standpoint, but it is even more impactful when considering the Browns will have starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. back in the lineup on Sunday.

Wills Jr. missed the first two games of the season with a knee injury that ended his 2023 season early and was a limited participant for Cleveland all week. He was listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report, but he'll make his season debut against the Giants, per Rapoport.

It remains to be seen if Burns is a full-go on Sunday or if he's held back to an extent. Regardless, having one of your best players on the field is always a good thing, especially whenever the opposition gets a boost of its own.
