Aaron Rodgers to the New York Giants? Aaron Rodgers to the Pittsburgh Steelers? Aaron Rodgers to retirement?
Before we get the answer to those burning questions, how about a juicy little detour: Aaron Rodgers vs. Adam Schefter.
We know the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback loves him some attention - see Pat McAfee, flirting with a career in politics, etc. And we also realize ESPN's veteran NFL insider tends to overstep from reporting into opining every now and then.
Both factors are in play this week, leading to Schefter to have the audacity to call out Rodgers for dragging his feet on his playing status.
Appearing on the Jen, Gabe & Chewy podcast this week, Schefter expressed his frustrations with Rodgers seemingly playing hard to get when there aren't a lot of options for him to choose from. Seemingly, it's the Giants, the Steelers, or the rocking chair.
"To me, this shouldn't be that hard, right?" Schefter said. "Like, the Steelers want you. The Giants want you. We're seeing players across the league make decisions. It shouldn't be that hard. Either you want to play or you don't. You want to play in Pittsburgh or you don't. You want to play in New York or you don't. You gonna make a decision or are you gonna drag it out for four days, five days, a week? It's not that hard. Make a decision and live with it."
Aaron gonna Aaron, we all know that. He's been seen this week in photos just casually strolling along some beach. And last year New York sports fans will remember him skipping out on Jets' minicamp to vacation in Egypt.
But this one's on Schefter. His job is to report the news, not accelerate it. Or, least of all, to attempt to pressure a player into making a career decision just because he's tired of waiting for an answer.
