Former Vikings starter states the absolute obvious with recent comments

Last season, the offensive line of the Minnesota Vikings was okay but left much to be desired. One piece of that offensive line was guard Dalton Risner, who took over after Ed Ingram was benched in Week 10.

Risner is a free agent once again. In the last two seasons, he started 25 games for Minnesota and hopes to latch on to a contender in a situation where he can help a team be competitive and win football games.

Former Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Dalton Risner comments about his future

Minnesota Vikings fans know Dalton Risner and his wife Whitney are not shy about social media. The couple is known for sharing pieces of their lives with fans and even holding competitions for prizes and tickets.

Recently, TWSN owner and sports show host Malik Wright was speaking on TikTok about the NFL. In the comments, he noticed Dalton Risner made a couple of statements, one of which was perhaps a hopeful plea.

"Would LOVE to be a Bengal"

Cincinnati needs some help after spending a ton of their salary cap space on their quarterback and wide receivers. Getting some quality offensive linemen would be smart to protect Joe Burrow, but their limited finances and existing needs could make it difficult.

For the 29-year-old offensive lineman, the idea of signing with any team at this point in free agency has to be appealing. For some reason, the former No. 41 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft isn't typically involved in the first waves of free agency.

Risner is entering his seventh NFL season and could still return to the Vikings. Minnesota's re-working of the interior of the offensive line is probably a sign that the team wanted some change, but having an experienced lineman who is familiar with the offense isn't a terrible idea at the right price.

Eventually, Dalton Risner will sign somewhere. If not as a starter, he will be a capable rotational or backup lineman. However, it is understandable if his top desire is to be a starter on a roster filled with talent.

Don't expect Dalton Risner to land with a team before the 2025 NFL Draft, but he will be a player to keep an eye on once teams start filling out their roster later this month. The six-foot-five, 312-pound blocker is too skilled not to land somewhere for 2025.
