Former Steelers Big Man TEASES SHOCKING Reunion as Pittsburgh Makes SURPRISE Roster Move That Has Fans BUZZING

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced a pair of training camp roster moves on Friday, August 1, and a separate reunion could also be in the works.

“We have signed DT Kyler Baugh and waived/injured DT Jacob Slade,” the Steelers’ social media team revealed on X.

Meanwhile, former Steelers defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko also seemingly broke his own news, which could officially be coming as soon as tomorrow.

“Non-earth shattering news: I’m signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Fehoko stated on X.

After sharing Fehoko’s claim, Steelers Now beat reporter Alan Saunders reminded followers that there were “three injuries at [the defensive line] position this week.”

New Steelers DT Roster Move Kyler Baugh Last Played in UFL

For the time being, Baugh has signed and Fehoko has not. Although Fehoko could still replace recently injured defensive lineman Esezi Otomewo.

Baugh is a 6-foot-2, 305-pound defensive lineman who just appeared in four games with the UFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks this spring. He registered 1.0 sack in the UFL, with 13 total tackles.

Before his UFL opportunity, Baugh spent five years in college, with three years at Houston Baptist and another two at Minnesota. He achieved a total of 9.0 sacks at the college level, along with over 180 tackles.

After that, Baugh entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie in 2024. He split his first preseason and training camp between the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants. Later, he also signed with the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad.

Despite all that movement, Baugh has yet to appear in a regular season game and is likely vying for a practice squad role in Pittsburgh.

Reunion Candidate Breiden Fehoko Now Healthy Again After an Injury Ended His Last Stint With Steelers

If Fehoko does indeed re-sign, it will be a nice second chance for the 6-foot-3 nose tackle who suffered an injury last summer.

At age 28, Fehoko has NFL experience that could be helpful in a depth or rotational role. He appeared in a total of 19 regular season games and 1 playoff outing with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2020 through 2022, and he also knows head coach Mike Tomlin’s system already, having spent a year on the Steelers’ practice squad in 2023.

Fehoko is a one-tech lane-clogger in the truest form. He has yet to register his first career sack, but he has accumulated 39 total tackles at the NFL level (with 1 tackle for a loss).

He could factor into the 53-man roster conversation if he signs and has a good camp.

Ex-Steelers DB Darius Rush Cut by Chiefs

In other news, former Steelers defensive back Darius Rush was waived by the Kansas City Chiefs on August 1. Rush suffered an injury at training camp and KC elected to move on.

It’s unclear what Rush’s current status is healthwise, but he’d be a name that would immediately join Pittsburgh’s free agency short list if he recovers from whatever is ailing him.

A former fifth-round talent, Rush appeared in a total of five games for Pittsburgh in 2023 and 2024. He logged 39 snaps on defense and another 39 on special teams, recording 3 total tackles and 1 pass breakup.

Of course, the Steelers are pretty deep at cornerback at the moment, but you never know if that will change in the coming weeks. If Fehoko’s supposed Steelers reunion proves anything, it’s that NFL teams will always give former players a look when a roster need emerges.
