The Las Vegas Raiders have had difficulty keeping their great players in the building over the last few years. The Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs sagas were perhaps the most notable, but the team has lost several key starters in free agency in recent seasons as well.
One such starter was linebacker Denzel Perryman, who was a Pro Bowler for the Raiders and helped lead the team to the playoffs in 2021. He left Las Vegas for the Houston Texans the following year and then spent last season with the Los Angeles Chargers. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on Wednesday that Perryman was re-signing with the Chargers on a one-year, $3.65 million deal.
Perryman is a 10-year NFL veteran who has spent the majority of his career with the Chargers, both in San Diego and Los Angeles. He played two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, starting in 26 of 27 games and had his only Pro Bowl campaign of his career in 2021.
Injuries have plagued Perryman throughout his NFL career as he has played in only 119 of a possible 164 games. He played in just 11 contests for the Chargers last season and missed the season finale against the Raiders. He was a pivotal piece of Patrick Graham's defense in 2021 but the team has replaced him with a revolving door of Steelers linebackers since his departure.
