Former Quarterback Continues To Disrespect Eagles Star

Jalen Hurts has been to the Pro Bowl twice, is an All-Pro player, has been to two Super Bowls, won one, and even earned the game MVP trophy. That kind of resume on the Philadelphia Eagles would usually have people arguing about his all-time greatness.

Not Hurts, though. And especially not in the national media.

Hurts has continued to be disrespected as a starting quarterback this offseason despite winning Super Bowl LIX MVP.

Former starting quarterback and NBC commentator Chris Simms spoke out about his latest quarterback rankings, which have Hurts just 10th in the league.

“The Super Bowl champ, the Super Bowl MVP. Really kind of an incredible year when you really think about it," Simms said. "The ultimate leader, that’s the first thing I’ll say. He’s tough, he’s the same guy all the time. He can handle the Philadelphia criticism good or bad and seems to take it all in stride."

It is incredible that a quarterback with six times the playoff wins as someone like Justin Herbert, three times as many wins as Dak Prescott, and a record of 4-1 against the top quarterbacks is ranked so far below.

It shows that people no longer care about wins at the NFL level; they care only about the numbers.

And Simms' comments show that people have lost the narrative regarding how we judge quarterbacks in the modern era.

That is ok, though. So long as Hurts continues to win, comments like these from Simms will only be laughed at when his enshrinement in Canton happens.
