Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jeremy McNichols is heading over to the Washington Commanders, according to multiple reports. He is re-signing with the team that he played for a year ago.
McNichols rushed for 281 yards on 55 carries for four touchdowns in short yardage and third, running back role for the Commanders.
McNichols has found trouble finding a new spot in the NFL over the years, as some injuries have popped up, but the Commanders were finally the spot where he seems to have stabilized his career. Even with the Steelers for a brief time period, an injury was the reason he never got to entrench himself in the Black and Gold.
McNichols spent time in 2022 with the Steelers in training camp but suffered a hamstring injury that forced the team to waive him shortly into his stay in Latrobe. Now under the guidance of a dynamite Washington Commanders passing attack led by Jayden Daniels, McNichols has found a home where he can maximize his speed and one-cut running style to great effect.
