Former NY Giants DT slams Cowboys after being put on Injured Reserve

For once, the NY Giants can sit back, relax and enjoy the other side of drama when it comes to a trade. Such has been the case for veteran defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. The G-Men signed the big-bodied interior defensive lineman to a one-year deal, but they ended up trading him to the Cowboys in August.

Phillips didn't impress one bit with the Giants, but Dallas and Mike McCarthy hoped he'd be able to make a difference for them in 2024. Yeah, that plan has gone south real quick. Phillips has been a big-time disappointment in the first two games and he was just placed on Injured Reserve with a wrist injury. However, a ticked off Phillips said he's fine and he doesn't understand the latest decision. Whoa:

Jordan Phillips calling out the Cowboys is drama Giants fans can enjoy

Yeah, Phillips is not happy one bit. Things haven't gone well for him with the Cowboys, especially after the Week 2 loss to the Saints. In that defeat, Phillips had Dallas supporters pretty upset with his play. With him saying that he's healthy too, this feels like a strange move all around, right?

Maybe Dallas is just getting creative with how they're keeping him off the field, but Phillips is not happy about the call being made here. This is nothing for general manager Joe Schoen to worry about, though, which is of course a good thing.

Schoen traded Phillips and a seventh-round pick to Dallas in exchange for a sixth-round pick. That deal was finalized with Phillips seeing extensive action in the first two games. Schoen is clearly the winner of the deal, while the former NY DT is living a nightmare with his new team. Also, the Cowboys treating a player poorly?

Color us shocked for this one. This is a problem Jerry Jones, McCarthy and others are going to have to deal with. On the flip side of things, Schoen can kick back and worry about trying to take down Cleveland in Week 3.
