Former NFL running back Ray Rice has been hired as the junior varsity football coach at Milford Mill Academy in Maryland, the school announced Friday.
Rice played with the Baltimore Ravens from 2008 to 2014. His career was cut short when a video emerged of him punching Janay Palmer, who was then his fiancé and is now his wife, in a casino elevator in Atlantic City.
The Ravens released Rice and the NFL suspended him and he never played in the league again. Since then, he has been involved with various domestic violence awareness groups.
Rice has been married to Palmer for 10 years and has two children, Jaylen and Raven. He was a volunteer coach at his alma mater, New Rochelle (New York) High School from 2014 to 2017. During the past few years he has been a volunteer coach for his son’s youth football program.
Rice was a three-time Pro Bowler and won Super Bowl 47 with the Ravens.
