Former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho recently detailed why Sanders might face challenges securing the QB1 role. He pointed to Cleveland’s financial and draft investments in other quarterbacks, such as Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel, as key obstacles. These factors could influence the team’s decision-making, regardless of Sanders’ on-field capabilities.

Acho also highlighted posturing, referencing how teams often prioritize optics over talent. Despite praise from notable figures like Mike Tomlin and Jerry Jones during the draft process, Sanders slipped to the fifth round. This draft-day slide, coupled with limited first-team reps in practice, underscores the uphill battle he faces in earning the starting role.

Fans have reacted strongly to the situation, with many voicing frustration over the perceived lack of merit-based decisions. Social media has been flooded with support for Sanders, as his story resonates with those who value hard work and raw talent. For many, Sanders’ trajectory serves as a reminder of the complex dynamics that often overshadow pure performance in professional sports.

According to Acho, there are two reasons that can prevent Sanders from starting in Cleveland. This can be seen in a video shared by the Facility’s official X account.

“Or- maybe he’s not good enough- doesn’t mean can’t eventually but maybe just maybe he’s not there yet,” a fan shared. “Sanders will get his shot this season,” another added.

A follower mentioned, “Politics part is true, but if they do that, it is their loss. Every coach and smart organization would play the best players. No matter the draft position. Jerry couldn’t draft shedeur because they have Dak.”

“I have no idea what the kid is going to be in the NFL but one thing for certain if he was a first round pick, he would have been picked in the first round.. these coaches and gm’s don’t get do over when they miss on the most important position in sports,” a supporter reacted.

“What team wastes 3rd round pics? Those are starters in league he will get the chance over a 5 anyday of week. It’s like these people don’t know how sports work or how politics work? GM coach not going to give up on their 3rd pick,” a commenter posted.

“And just not being good enough,” a sixth social media user remarked.

Cleveland’s quarterback competition remains heated, with Sanders battling established players like Flacco and Gabriel. While his talent is undeniable, the outcome may depend on factors beyond his control. This has led analysts to question whether his path to success will require overcoming not just competition, but systemic barriers as well.
